Providing Wonder and Inspiration
The light fails behind clouds,
Twilight sinks in and the world
Goes dark. Flourescents turn on,
But each a lie, a mockery.
False illumination fills the night sky,
While below the city crawls, drunk,
Smelling of too many sweaty bodies.
Words, curses, loose lips fill the starless sky.
The sun comes up, hung over, but pollution hides
Beautiful blue splendor. There is only
Smog, choking out the hope of day,
The life giving sun.
There is only exhaustion in my bones.
Tension in my muscles.
Headache in my skull.
My light dims.
