Equivalent Exchange

So the first two lines were the kicker. Thought it up last night and didn’t want to lose it. Pretty sure it’ll end up in a story.

You saved one man’s soul
At the cost of poisoning another’s.
We don’t care who we hurt
As long as we feel good
About what we have done.

  1. Fullmetal Alchemist comes to mind every time I see the phrase ‘equivalent exchange’. I’ve noticed that the world is full of people who don’t care who they hurt as long as they feel good while doing it. They let someone else pay the price for the equal exchange that must be rendered instead of working for it themselves.

By the way, I’m in the mood to write some poetry today. I went from very excited to very disappointed withing five minutes this morning (got up at 5:30 expecting to go to another interview just to have Dad inform me that the staffing agency offering the job looked very suspicious. He kept trying to find something on them and came up emptyhanded. He knows a lot more about downtown than I do and has never heard of the company before, so I trust him. It’s sad what people are willing to do to those desparate for a job. Almost got caught up in a couple of scams before. This knocks out a good chunk of the jobs I applied for on Monster.

I guess I’ll have to go to plan B: go ahead and spend the money to make some business cards to leave at all the sewing places I know, while hitting every store in the area AGAIN with applications and hope someone hires me before April. That’s when I know I’ll be toast.

Sorry for the early morning babeling, I’m not in a very happy mood right now.

    • FMA was what I was thinking about. Good luck with the job stuff and hope your mood lifts! Get some sleep. Got nearly 10 hours last night and feeling a bit better šŸ™‚

  2. That could be an entire novel in itself. Look forward to the final outcome.
